Prepare your garden for autumn – we approach the topic of seasonal care in a systematic and balanced way
If you look around your garden, you will probably find that an improvement is needed. A few amendments, even minor ones, will certainly not bother him. Finally, in summer there are very high temperatures, which often disturb the structure of the plants, even though they are watered. Maybe there are those who have uprooted you. Not to mention the weeds!
Autumn is just around the corner and now is the perfect time to freshen up your plantings. This post is about how to update the garden. How to make it hospitable to vegetation and people? Today we are going to share with you some ideas related to preparing for the rainy season.
Evaluate your garden for the presence and number of problem areas
Look carefully and try to find any imperfections. The biggest problems outdoors are dead plants, weeds that need to be removed, and abandoned areas that need to be cleared and refreshed.
Don’t forget to inspect absolutely everything in the area, not just the grass. Weeds and unattended plantings can disturb the stone path. Sometimes it can make sense to remove stray pebbles and reinforce the boundary between the gravel and turf. Or between rubble and another embankment, as in the picture below.
Also rate the general health of the greens. Are there people who are surrounded by malevolent ones and therefore become ill or grow slower? Even simple changes in their structure can be a signal for help.
Some of the “symptoms” may be the reason for the relocation. For example, if a flower is on a shelf that is considered the sunniest, just move it to another, lower or higher. Maybe he just can’t stand the 50 degree heat?
Take care of your lawn, gravel mounds and paths
Don’t assume that all problem areas require immediate action. For example, a Zoysia lawn will be dormant throughout the winter. So there is no need to change it now. Let’s leave that until spring.
However, the areas covered with pebbles – garden paths, photo below – need help. Foul grass sometimes pierces them, preventing them from completing their task calmly. But that’s not very scary, just clean it – and you’re done! Even weeding will not be superfluous.
Enhance and decorate flower pots and planters
Now it’s time to focus on the fun stuff – potted plants! There is nothing more beautiful than these wonderful flowers.
This is a good time to add a lush focal point to your outdoor tables. And indeed, as you can see in the photo below, the plant needs special care. In other words: worry. So do not forget about them, especially if they are already on the table in the garden.
And then look at the large terracotta pots in blue with a touch of grey. They look more modern than, for example, simple plastic models. And add a simple, healthy fern that complements it with its natural look.
Can you tell today that some plants have already outgrown their pots? For example a planter that is hidden behind other plantings and does not show that you have forgotten it. Therefore, think of everything and check it more often.
Add fall color
One of the prettiest ways to decorate an outdoor space is to place bright flowers in equally colorful pots. In the picture below you can see irresistible autumn fire tones that immediately catch the eye.
As you add all the tones, also pay attention to the contrast between them so that they blend together and don’t interrupt each other.
Another great fall selection is Croton. Check it out in close-up. To say he’s handsome is an understatement.
Decorate your terrace
It also needs attention. Outdoor furniture may be required for updates. And it is not necessary to buy a new one, just put the old one in order. Especially if it’s close to your heart, like a memory.
Check out the pictures above and below to see how easy it can be. metal chairs paint . For example in cold tones. Replace the cushions or simply upholster them with a different fabric. Everything is much easier than you think.
And finally the lights in the yard. Lamps hanging overhead will look great and create a fantastic atmosphere.
