Wheel sizes and types

You can buy wheels already complete with disc, camera and rubber. To fix them in Belarus you need 4 screws. Anyone can do this, even those who have never tried to do something like this before. In order not to make a mistake when choosing rubber, you need to pay attention to 3 important components of the properties: height, width and weight.

Wheel size 19×7-8

This size is one of the most popular because it can be used on heavy walk-behind tractors such as MTZ09N, working with heavy attachments. With their help, a single-axle tractor with a cutting unit or two plows can be easily deployed, moved or rolled from place to place.

Thanks to the relief and high tread on rubber, the MTZ walk-behind tractor is stable and able to withstand significant pressure from attachments and does not slip on loose and wet soil. When working on hard soils and virgin lands, it is more advisable to use wheels of this size, as other rubbers simply cannot withstand the load.

wheel size 4×10

The diameter of this type of rubber is slightly smaller, but thanks to the high tread that provides good grip on the ground surface, the wheels allow the walk-behind tractor to remain stable and cope with tasks effectively.

On the agricultural market there are other wheel models that can be mounted on the MTZ 09N: 5×10, 5×12, 6×12 with similar characteristics. But there is a proven pattern: the wider and larger the wheel, the more stress it can withstand. And you need to install them based on the tasks at hand.

With the third wheel

The installation of the third wheel as an attachment is done to give the walk-behind tractor better balance and to increase maneuverability. It cannot be said that the MTZ walk-behind tractor on two wheels is unstable on the ground, but with an attachment in the form of a third wheel, its characteristics improve.

Some craftsmen, trying to modernize their unit, install a third wheel and turn the walk-behind tractor into a three-wheeled small tractor. The design is simple, but when using the adapter, it is very convenient to use and saves energy. However, experts recommend not to build a tricycle from Belarus, but to install two front wheels at once and make them drive to make it easier to climb a hill or use heavy attachments.

Homemade construction

MTZ owners do not always have enough material resources to purchase a variety of attachments, not to mention purchasing new tires to make the device universal. Don’t be upset, but as always, you can be smart and use universal car wheels.

It is important to know that the tire mounts for the walk-behind tractor and for the car are the same, so any similar diameter is taken. Wheels from Zhiguli, Zaporozhets or Moskvich may be suitable as an analogue, since they were produced almost simultaneously. The advantage of MTZ walk-behind tractors is the ability to use almost any rubber. However, it should be noted that you will have to work on wet ground, so a heavily worn tread will get stuck in the mud.

Eyelets

The use of studs is advisable where the rubber cannot tolerate passage on wet ground and even in these cases the load on the walk-behind tractor is large enough. The lugs look like rims with crossbars welded around the perimeter in the shape of a Christmas tree. These plates break into the ground when moving, stick to it and prevent them from slipping. This function ensures good traction and smooth progress on the construction site.

Eyelets

In order to feel the effectiveness of using eyelets, it is necessary to carry out their correct installation. The herringbone should be directed forward with sharp ends so that it is easier to penetrate the ground and fix it.

If you pay attention to the price, then pneumatic wheels and cleats belong to the same category. However, they may only be used for a specific purpose. They are not suitable for driving on unpaved roads. Therefore, you need to purchase both options.

There are different types of coupling:

1. Universal coupling STs-00010. Due to the design features, with the help of this coupling it is possible to connect various walk-behind tractors with a variety of attachments. S C is produced at the Smorgon plant and is therefore particularly suitable for MTZ and 09N walk-behind tractors. It can be used to connect:

Before purchasing the equipment, study the existing clutch. If it is not there, select it based on the parameters of the existing MTZ walk-behind tractor.

Plow clutch

1. Plow clutch. Such a device is used only for connecting plows. The ability to connect two plows at the same time increases work efficiency and significantly reduces the processing time of the construction site.
